CRIME OF THE WEEK POLICE SEEK SUSPECT IN Crime Stoppers of El Paso is assisting officers from the Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons unit in identifying a suspect involved in two aggravated robberies on the eastside last month, making this the “Crime of the Week.” Two days later, on Thursday, March 19th, about 10:30 A.M., this same suspect – along with an accomplice who was driving the same car taken from the previous victim – came up behind a woman who was walking in the 11600 block of Montwood, grabbed her around the neck, and poked a knife into her ribs. He then took her purse and cell phone, got into the vehicle and fled. That vehicle has since been located; however, investigators still need to identify the suspect and the driver. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 5-foot 9-inches tall, medium to stocky build, with some facial hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with unknown logo in front, large dark sunglasses, a black jacket, black jeans, and new dark-colored boots. There is no description of the driver. If you have any information at all about the identity and location of these subjects, call Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (8477) or submit your tip by clicking on the link below.
