CRIME OF THE WEEK
Released June 19, 2009

F.B.I. SEEKS SUSPECT
IN BANK ROBBERY

Crime Stoppers of El Paso is assisting agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in identifying and locating a man who committed El Paso’s ninth bank robbery of 2009, making this the “Crime of the Week.”

On Monday, May 4th, about 12:30 P.M., a lone male entered the Bank of American branch at 7575 N. Mesa, approached a teller and said he had a gun.  He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.  No weapon was seen.

When the subject exited the bank, he was seen running away, possibly toward Remcon Street.
This was El Paso’s ninth bank robbery of the year, compared to only 4 for all of last year.  It is believed that this same suspect has been involved in other crimes in El Paso this year.

If you have any information about this case, even if you don’t think it’s important, please call Crime Stoppers at 566-TIPS (566-8477) or by clicking on the "Submit tip" link below. You can remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to an arrest, you can qualify for a cash reward.
