Crime of the week for Crime Stoppers of El Paso is assisting officers from the Crimes Against Persons (CAP) unit of the El Paso Police Department in identifying and locating the person or persons who abducted and murdered an eastside woman, making this the Crime of the Week. On Saturday, July 25th, about 5:30 P.M., Ms. Gloria Ann Marmolejo returned to El Paso following an extended 5-month visit in Phoenix with her son. She made the trip in her car, and met with family members at her home in the 1800 block of Sonoma Place on the eastside. Shortly thereafter, both Marmolejo and her vehicle disappeared. The vehicle was found a few days after her disappearance, within two blocks of her residence. On Friday, July 31st, Ms. Marmolejo’s body was found in the desert area off Artcraft Road in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Her death was ruled a homicide.
